With a strong passion for sustainable practices and deep knowledge of the retail and construction sectors, Mr. Rasul consistently delivers exceptional results in boosting sales and driving profitability. With a B.A. in Business Accounting & Finance earned in 2005, Mr. Rasul possesses a solid academic foundation.

As an entrepreneurial leader, Mr. Rasul has successfully directed organisations, including Food 4 Thought Ltd and Trend Transformations. Currently, he serves as CEO of Bio-Energy International Ltd and Director of Trends Development Ltd, driving innovation and growth. With exceptional client service and deep retail expertise, Mr. Rasul capitalises on opportunities with strategic thinking and creativity. His financial planning and management expertise enable him to deliver sound advice and engaging presentations.

Sheikh Abdulla Faisal Al-Thani

SHK Abdulla Al Thani, an esteemed Swansea University alumni, graduated in 2018 with a bachelor’s degree in finance. His unwavering passion for the field of finance is matched only by his deep commitment to promoting our moral responsibility towards the planet through green finance initiatives. Drawing upon his extensive financial expertise, SHK Abdulla seeks to introduce investment and business opportunities that yield economic benefits and positively impact the environment through the introduction of algae-based products, which hold tremendous potential for businesses worldwide.

With an ardent desire to make a lasting impact in the professional world, SHK Abdulla has garnered invaluable experience as a Business Development Officer within his family’s enterprise. In this role, he diligently studied and identified sustainable and profitable business opportunities across various industries, augmenting his already vast business knowledge and expertise. Currently, as a senior management reporting analyst at a renowned Oil and Gas establishment, SHK Abdulla showcases his exceptional skills and expertise. His role involves critical analysis and reporting on key management information, contributing to the efficient functioning of the organisation.

With his remarkable academic background, diverse experience in business development, and his current role in the energy sector, SHK Abdulla Al Thani is poised to leave an indelible mark in the professional arena. Prof. Andrew R. Barron

Board Chairman & Chief Scientific Officer

After his PhD from Imperial College and post-doctoral research at UT Austin, Andrew joined the faculty Harvard University (1987), then moved to Rice University (1995) as the Welch Chair of Chemistry. In 2014 he founded the Energy safety Research Institute (ESRI) as the Sêr Cymru Chair of Low Carbon Energy and Environment at Swansea University (UK) and was PI of the Welsh Government’s largest industrial decarbonization project. In addition to authoring over 550 scientific papers, Andrew is a serial entrepreneur with start-ups across water treatment, carbon capture and utilization, and health care. Andrew was appointed as the Prince of Wales Visiting Innovator and is a recipient of the World Technology Award and Star of Asia Award. He was a co-founder of the Rice Alliance which is now the highest ranked entrepreneurship program in the US as well as the highest ranked business plan competition in the world. Andrew lives in both Swansea (UK) and Austin (TX) with his wife and their two cats.

Claire Relandeau

Non-Executive Director

Claire Relandeau holds a Master’s degree in Life Sciences from AgroParisTech and an executive MBA from Essec Business School. She has a solid 25-year career with top players in the animal nutrition and crop protection industries. She held leadership positions in marketing and sales of value-adding specialty products produced by chemistry or biotechnology. She is a seasoned international business developer, with extensive experience and network. Born in France, she currently lives in London and speaks French, English and German. She was formerly based in Singapore and launched new products in 12 countries of Asia-Pacific. She is currently a consultant, interim manager and non-executive director for startups and SMEs in the fields of BioTech, AgTech and FoodTech. As climate change requires urgent solutions, scaling up life-changing sustainable innovations cannot wait. She is helping early-stage ventures achieve product-market fit as quickly as possible. She is delighted to join API as first NED and support the exciting mission to provide green products for a greener world.

Jack Wade

Senior Technician and Researcher

Jack Wade is a highly motivated and knowledgeable bioengineer contributing to the mission of API in providing green products for a greener world. With a strong educational background in chemical engineering and bioscience from Swansea University, Jack possesses a diverse skill set encompassing molecular biology, microbiology, and general laboratory techniques. As a workshop technician for the Swansea University RICE project, Jack plays a vital role in the cultivation, analysis, and extraction of valuable products from algae cultures. His expertise extends to operating large-scale photobioreactors and developing techniques for biomass and pigment extraction.

During his tenure as a research assistant at Procoll, Jack excelled in molecular biology, microbiology, and large-scale processing techniques, contributing to the production of high-quality collagen products. His responsibilities included genetic engineering, product purification, and the training of research students. Jack’s experience as a field officer at Bionema Ltd involved conducting efficacy testing of biopesticides, organising field trials, and maintaining cultures. He demonstrated strong leadership skills by supervising new staff and taking responsibility for scientific studies.

Adnan Habibimakrani

Research Technician

Adnan Habibimakrani is a highly motivated and knowledgeable biotechnology expert contributing to the mission of Algae Products International in delivering sustainable solutions through algae-based innovations. With a robust educational foundation in Chemical Engineering and Biotechnology, including a Master’s degree in Biotechnology and Management from the University of Glasgow, I bring an interdisciplinary skill set to the field of biotechnology. My academic journey has not only deepened my scientific and technical expertise but also enhanced my understanding of management in the biotech sector, particularly within the UK’s dynamic and sustainability-driven research landscape.

As a Technical Researcher at Algae Products International, I am actively involved in innovative projects focused on microalgal cultivation and bioproduct development. My research focuses on designing and optimizing advanced photobioreactors, as well as developing innovative carbon capture techniques to enhance biomass production. Additionally, I explore broader applications of biomass, including the development of high-quality pigments.

Driven by a passion for environmental sustainability, my expertise lies in leveraging microalgae for biotechnological innovations like wastewater remediation, air pollution treatment Specifically carbon capture and utilization. I am committed to advancing research that provides sustainable solutions to pressing global challenges.

Sales & Marketing Executive

Shalvia is an accomplished marketing professional with a strong background in developing and executing comprehensive marketing strategies across multiple channels. With a Master’s degree in International Media and Communication Studies from the University of Nottingham, she possesses a deep understanding of media and cultural industries, as well as the role of technology in transforming communication and marketing.

Shalvia’s expertise lies in creating engaging and SEO-optimized content for various digital platforms, including social media, email marketing, and websites. With excellent written and verbal communication skills, Shalvia can craft clear, persuasive, and informative content that resonates with target audiences. Shalvia has a proven track record in stakeholder engagement, project management, and analytical skills.
